As a Medical Scientific Advisor in Drug Development and Neurosciences, Dr. Cor Sennef joined TFS in 2013.
Currently, Dr. Sennef is Chardon Pharma's Clinical Research Director and a partner of Ge Ruigt in CCNDD and is also cooperating with LBS (www.learningbysimulation.com) in their Drug Development Simulation. Cor completed his education as a psychologist studying Psychology and Brain and Behavior Sciences in the Netherlands where he completed his PhD thesis on functions of the Prefrontal cortex.
Before joining the Pharmaceutical industry, he performed clinical and preclinical work at the departments of Psychology in Nijmegen and Child Neurology in Utrecht. Both during his academic and pharmaceutical years he practiced a special interest in the development of new designs and methodology for the purpose of scientific guidance in the early drug development process (translational medicine).
His career of more than 25 years working in the pharmaceutical industry includes Organon (1984-2002) where he was a clinical research director responsible for several projects in Psychiatry (schizophrenia, major depression) and Neurology (cognition, Alzheimer’s disease) in all stages of development. He also initiated innovative studies in the development of new designs and methodology for clinical trials. Later at Solvay Pharmaceuticals (2003-2011), he headed the Clinical Neuroscience Department, co-chaired the Neuroscience R&D Teams in psychiatry and Alzheimer’s disease and was responsible for the worldwide development of Duodopa, a complex treatment for advanced Parkinson’s disease.
