Dr. Lynne Hughes is a highly respected neuroscience strategist with more than 35 years of experience in global clinical research. She currently serves as Chief People Officer at the Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation (GAP), a nonprofit dedicated to accelerating Alzheimer’s clinical trials. Previously, she spent over two decades at IQVIA, retiring as Vice President and Global Head of Medical Strategy, Neurology.

At IQVIA, Dr. Hughes led global strategic and operational development for more than 300 neurology trials across Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, pain, stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and rare neurodegenerative conditions. She also provided therapeutic and regulatory guidance for clients and internal development teams on study design, neurocognitive assessment, and trial optimization.

In addition to her role at GAP, Dr. Hughes co-chairs the DAVOS taskforce for Alzheimer’s clinical trials, sits on the NIH/NIA task force for AD trial recruitment, and serves as a venture partner with the Dementia Discovery Fund. She continues to collaborate with leading organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s Research UK, the Gates Foundation, and the G7/G20 World Dementia Councils.

Dr. Hughes’s career is defined by her commitment to patient-focused, data-driven research and her leadership in advancing the development of innovative therapies for complex neurological and neuro-orphan diseases.
