Back to Glossary

Interventional Cardiology

Interventional cardiology is a branch of cardiology that focuses on diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases using minimally invasive procedures. Techniques include angioplasty, stent placement, and catheter-based treatments for heart valve disorders. Interventional cardiologists perform these procedures to improve blood flow, reduce symptoms, and prevent heart attacks.
