Keratosis Pilaris

Back to Glossary

Keratosis Pilaris

Keratosis pilaris is a common, harmless skin condition characterized by small, rough bumps on the skin, typically on the arms, thighs, cheeks, and buttocks. It is caused by the buildup of keratin, which blocks hair follicles. Treatment includes moisturizing lotions, exfoliation, and topical creams containing ingredients like urea or lactic acid.
