Back to Glossary

Liver Cirrhosis

Liver cirrhosis is a chronic condition characterized by the replacement of healthy liver tissue with scar tissue, leading to impaired liver function. It can result from various causes, including chronic alcohol abuse, hepatitis infections, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Symptoms include jaundice, fatigue, and fluid accumulation. Management focuses on treating the underlying cause and preventing complications.
