Open-Label Trial

Back to Glossary

Open-Label Trial

An open-label trial is a type of clinical trial in which both the researchers and participants know which treatment is being administered. This contrasts with blinded trials, where this information is concealed. Open-label trials are often used when blinding is not feasible or when the trial’s purpose is to collect additional safety or efficacy data.
