Oxidative Damage

Back to Glossary

Oxidative Damage

Oxidative damage is the harm caused to cells and tissues by reactive oxygen species (ROS) or free radicals. These molecules can damage DNA, proteins, and lipids, leading to various diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders. Antioxidants help neutralize ROS and protect against oxidative damage.
