Pemphigus

Pemphigus is a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by the formation of painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes, often starting in the mouth. Pemphigus occurs when the immune system attacks proteins that hold skin cells together, leading to skin fragility and an increased risk of infection.
