Back to Glossary

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a condition characterized by the narrowing or blockage of peripheral arteries, usually in the legs, due to atherosclerosis. It leads to reduced blood flow, causing symptoms such as leg pain, cramping, and fatigue, especially during exercise. Treatment includes lifestyle changes, medications, and sometimes surgical interventions.
