Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

Back to Glossary

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation of the joints. It causes pain, swelling, stiffness, and potential loss of function in affected joints. RA can also affect other tissues and organs. Treatment includes medications such as disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologics, and lifestyle modifications to manage symptoms and prevent joint damage.
