It’s been said that nothing is more powerful than a community that knows what it cares about, and our inaugural “TFS Together” campaign proves the maxim true. In honor of World Cancer Day 2023, TFS rallied as an organization to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, kicking off the first of our TFS Together campaigns to unite employees toward a healthier world.

The World Cancer Day campaign, which ran from February 3 to March 31, motivated more than 100 participants to walk, jog, or run a 5K, ultimately raising over $1,000 for cancer research. As a gesture of appreciation, TFS has matched all employee contributions, resulting in a grand total of $2,000 donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In the spirit of our World Cancer Day campaign, employees in Barcelona and Madrid went above and beyond by participating in the esteemed Magic Line event, a remarkable solidarity initiative led by the renowned Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. TFS takes immense pride in our longstanding partnership and history of collaborative efforts with Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, and we are delighted to have been able to donate more than 2,000€ toward research in pediatric diseases.

We are proud to have such compassionate and socially responsible individuals on our team. Together, we are making a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer and pediatric diseases, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to create positive change in our community.

Reflecting our priorities
This year’s World Cancer Day theme was “Close the Care Gap,” which celebrates the progress in enabling more people to seek and receive the care they deserve. It’s a priority close to the heart of TFS, given our high therapeutic focus in oncology. Our expertise spans the full spectrum of cancer research, including hematologic malignancy, breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, and many others. Whether we are supporting early-phase studies, late-stage trials, or global multicenter studies, our aim is the same: to bring novel treatments to patients that pave the way for a future without cancer.

Our selection of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a primarily US-based charity, reflects our commitment to making a difference in the communities where we operate and have recently expanded operations.

“We are proud to have been part of this global campaign to raise awareness and funds for important cancer research,” said TFS Executive Director, Marketing and Communications Emma Primon. “By working together, we can reimagine a world where millions of preventable cancer deaths are saved, and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equitable for all.”

Geography is just a map; humanity is our common territory
While the amount raised for cancer research is exciting, TFS Together is more than a fundraising initiative. It’s also a clever way for a global organization like TFS to team-build across geographies, understanding that the pursuit of good health and humanity transcends all cultures and geographic divides. That’s why our World Cancer Day campaign encouraged TFS employees across the globe to take a photo of themselves walking, jogging, or running a 5K. Tagging TFS in their photo not only automatically triggered a $10 TFS donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, but it also built camaraderie among other colleagues who cheered participants on from around the world.

“Incorporating the element of social media allows us to bring the TFS team together virtually and showcase our employee support, solidarity, and participation,” said Primon. “Even though my team and I are located in different places worldwide, we took on this challenge together.”
